JUCA meals are commercially sterilised and sealed in airtight pouches, allowing them to remain shelf-stable without refrigeration or artificial preservatives until opened. This process is designed to maintain the safety and quality of our meals over an extended period.
JUCA meals are shelf-stable, with a best-before date printed on every pouch. Because our different recipes are produced at different times, the production and best-before dates will vary across our range.
The production date of a pouch is not, on its own, an indication that the meal is unsafe or that its nutritional quality has been compromised. Our meals are specifically produced and packaged to remain safe and stable over an extended period when unopened and stored as directed.
The date printed on JUCA pouches is a best-before date, not a use-by or expiry date. A best-before date relates primarily to product quality and indicates the period during which the product is intended to retain its quality when unopened and stored as directed. It is not a food-safety cut-off in the way a use-by date is.
Always check that the pouch is intact before serving and follow the storage instructions on the pack.
